”Livin’ the Dream,” is an axiom to which most of us aspire, but few can achieve, and it’s one that used to be much more attainable in many markets – especially in Jackson, Wyoming.

Wyoming is a state that harkens back to a different time; where bison roam and large ranches stretch across thousands of acres; where the Wind River Reservation is home to the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapahoe nations; and where some of America’s most majestic peaks and parks can be found in the Teton and Gros Ventre mountain ranges. It’s also a place where the Federal government owns almost 47% of the land, and only about 3% of the Town of Jackson, Wyoming is available to be developed. Land and mountains define Wyoming.

However, because of the extraordinary natural beauty of the region that affords an incredible outdoor year-round lifestyle combined with the fact that Wyoming has no individual state income tax, it’s been a magnet for people looking to escape city-life – and that search for homes exploded after the pandemic. Like other places in the American West, Jackson has become unaffordable for most people, where starter homes with one or two bedrooms can cost as much as 1.5- 2M dollars. It’s changed so much that no one can afford to live anywhere near there.
