Fernando Wong and his partner, Tim Johnson, founded Fernando Wong Outdoor Living Design in 2006, and since then, they’ve worked with some of the most recognized names in the businesses of design and homes. Elle Décor called Wong “one of the most influential designers in America,” while Forbes labeled Wong a “landscape legend.” Wong and his work have been featured in The New York Times, Architectural Digest, The Wall Street Journal, Vogue, House Beautiful, Departures, and many other publications. Recently, Wong has appeared with lifestyle icon Martha Stewart on the new Discover+ series “Clipped.”
Wong and Johnson have recently released their book, The Young Man And The Tree, Fernando Wong Landscape Design, with Vendome Press. The lush gardens created by Wong have been exquisitely documented by photographer Carmel Brantley while Johnson’s storytelling reveals the inspiration for every garden as well as detailed descriptions of the plans, plants, and hardscape elements. The foreword by Martha Stewart reveals her respect for both Fernando’s creativity as well his depth of knowledge about plants. In total, the book Is a masterclass in garden design.
