Spalding majored in Art History and Studio Art at the University of Virginia, and then attended the University of Georgia School of Law, specializing in Intellectual Property and International Law. After working at prestigious national museums in both Development and the General Counsel’s Office, and then for renowned galleries, Spalding became an accredited appraiser. Armed with both a law degree and appraisal accreditation, and combined with years of gallery and art experience and education, Spalding opened his eponymous firm in 2003.

Spalding Nix is a Gallery Owner; Art Advisor to both private and Fortune 500 clients; Attorney who worked for Sotheby’s, The National Gallery of Art, and the General Counsel’s Office of The Smithsonian Museum in Washington, D.C., and an Accredited Member of the American Society of Appraisers – he maintains an extraordinary resume that distinguishes him among the most qualified and experienced of all gallery owners.
